EOC to challenge bail to GCA trio

PANJIM: The Economic Offences Cell (EOC) of Goa Police will challenge the bail application of Goa Cricket Association’s (GCA) trio in the sessions’ court. A senior police officer said the decision was taken after legal consultation. GCA President Chetan Desai, Secretary Vinod Phadke and former Treasurer Akbar Mulla were released on bail by a Panjim JMFC Court on June 24. The trio was arrested following a complaint of alleged siphoning of Rs 3.15 crore of GCA funds by forging a bank account. Parsekar’s visit comes following several notifications to the State Government on the embankment collapse.
