PANJIM: Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) has decided to remove the minimum number of films restriction for the Special Goa section screening at the eight-day-long International Film Festival of India (IFFI) which will commence on November 20.
This was revealed by ESG vice chairman Subhash Phaldesai who said the earlier decision has been withdrawn, wherein IFFI was to have the special Goan section only if ESG receives more than four entries for the same. Phaldesai was responding to critics who had criticised the IFFI organisers over limited screenings of Goan films.
Phaldesai added that close to 3,000 delegates have registered for IFFI so far out of which most of them have already made their payments. He said they are expecting 5,000 overall delegates.
“Around 250 students have also registered. IFFI will have 70 international guests subject to their visa processing. This time Zee TV is the broadcasting partner for the event. Like last year, this year too e-ticketing facility will be made available to delegates,” said Phaldesai.
