PANJIM: The State government has invoked Goa Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) in view tomorrow’s (Friday) nationwide transporters strike call given by All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC).
Transporters in Goa have announced their support to the ‘chakka jam’ strike. “The Government has prohibited strikes in any form in all transport services for the carriage of passengers of goods…with immediate effect as per sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Goa Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1988,” states the order.
