Ex-CM Parsekar to contest as Independent in Mandrem?

Supporters and party workers insist that the former CM leave the party and contest the upcoming assembly election as Independent

MANDREM:  After being denied the BJP  ticket in Mandrem,  former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar’s supporters and party workers during an emergency meeting insisted that the former MLA leave the party and contest the upcoming assembly election as Independent.

Claiming that the party has done injustice to Parsekar, BJP workers said, “We are happy now that party denied ticket to Laxmikant Parsekar since BJP is no more in a situation to seek people’s votes in Mandrem constituency. We insist that Parsekar resign from the party and contest the election as independent”, party workers demanded.

Former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said, “My supporters and karyakartas have insisted that I resign from the Bharatiya Janata Party and contest the election as independent but I cannot take the decision immediately since I am still part of the party and have responsibilities. At present, I am the chairman of party’s Manifesto Committee and have responsibilities. I am with the people and my supporters and in the next three days, a decision will be taken”.
