PANJIM: Three-time corporator of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) Menino Da Cruz has tendered his resignation to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Da Cruz, who was a loyal supporter of former Chief Minister and Panjim MLA (late) Manohar Parrikar, hit out at the party for its ‘new change in direction’. He also said the party is not interested in the ‘earlier workers of Parrikar’, who like him had worked for over 15 years.
“See after the demise of our beloved Manohar Bhai, things are not going in the right direction or as they were going earlier. Things have changed and practically everybody is not happy with the way things are going on. Some may not want to express their view but I wanted to express mine and that is the reason (of tendering resignation, “said Da Cruz while talking about his resignation.
Da Cruz resignation follows announcement of the Panjim panel for the CCP polls led by local MLA Atanasio Monserrate.
