VASCO: Under the Nirmalya campaign, former Mormugao councillor Krishna Salkar along with wife Shami and team collected 2400 kg of floral residue during the seven-day Ganesh visarjan.
This floral residue will be converted into organic compost under the campaign, and will be distributed to farmers free of cost.
The initiative has been undertaken to keep the water bodies clean after the Visarjan.
Salkar said, “Nirmalya i will be converted into compost within 14 days. The same will be given to the farmers free of cost and this will help in keeping our water bodies clean”.
