VASCO: A woman from Bihar, who is at the centre of alleged sex scandal allegedly involving former Minister and MLA Milind Naik on Tuesday appeared before the Mormugao Police Station accompanied by her lawyer.
Mormugao PI Paresh Naik said, “The victim had come with her lawyer here and there is also a NGO with her. She has revealed some facts in this case and we are ascertaining the facts and taking her out for investigation.”
PI Naik further said, “We are cross checking what she is saying is correct or not and that’s why we are taking her out and we are ascertaining facts of the case.”
The police officer declined to divulge details of the case stating that police will reveal it during the course of investigation.
On the other hand the lawyer from Bihar accompanying the woman said the woman had filed a zero FIR at Bihar and it was later forwarded to the Mormugao Police Station.
According to the lawyer, the statement of the victim has already been recorded by the Bihar Magistrate under Section 164 of CrPC and the women’s NGO under Section 161 of CrPC in the presence of officials.
The lawyer said they came to know through media that some handsets and other things are with somebody and for that they have personally appeared before this police station.
He charged that without their permission, their electronic devices are with somebody.
“We are also going to show some places to the investigation officer. We will tell more details about the case later, he said adding that the case is registered under the relevant sections of the IPC such as kidnapping, extortion, etc and which are non-bailable.
