SANGUEM: Following the report on ‘Herald’ highlighting the precarious condition of the Verlem-Salgini road, ex-MLA Sanguem Subhash Phaldessai alongwith Suvarna Zambaulikar and BJYM General Secretary Suhas Deiker submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant highlighting the problems envisaged by the villagers while using the said road and also the road proceeding to the hilly areas of Korla and Kazur villages in Quepem constituency.
Phaldessai in the memorandum brought to fore of the problems faced by the villagers at times of emergencies.
The memorandum states that both the roads which were constructed eight years ago are totally washed away and are in non motorable condition thereby making the use of roads also dangerous at times of emergencies.
Phaldessai in his memorandum urged the Chief Minister to get both the roads hotmixed before the monsoon to provide much needed relief to the villagers.
Immediately after receiving the memorandum, Chief Minister called the Executive Engineer Ganesh Velip and directed him to draw estimates to undertake immediate repair work of both the roads.
The villagers have highly applauded the action initiated by Phaldessai as they will get atleast a motorable road before the onset of monsoon season.
It may be noted that Herald had highlighted the detail condition of the Verlem-Salgini road and the assurances were given by the government officials since last two years which however did not materialize as of date.
