VASCO: The former Vasco MLA and Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Rajendra Arlekar has commended the centenary celebration plan of Mormugao Municipal Council.
He has also advised the city fathers to think on the lines of making the Council into a corporation.
Claiming that the celebration of 100 years of Vasco town is wrong, Arlekar said that celebrating the 100 years of the Mormugao Municipal Council should include the review of works of the municipality that they have done for the town and need to also devise a master plan for future endeavours.
Former speaker said that the Council has to think on the lines of making the Council into a corporation in view of the increasing populace of the town.
“The Councillors and Officials of the town with the seniors of the town have to sit together and think about this,” Arlekar said.
