Ex-transport minister Raut passes away

Several developmental projects were taken up by Raut during his tenure including the by-pass road to the Bicholim bus stand from Shantadurga High School.

BICHOLIM: Former State transport minister, Pandurang Raut (76) passed away on Monday after a brief illness.

He passed away at his residence in Bicholim, on Monday morning at 6.

Raut was not keeping in good health for some time. 

The former Bicholim MLA was an active member of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) till he formed the Goa Praja Party in 2017.

He was elected as an MLA for the first time in 1989 on the MGP ticket from Bicholim and once again in the 1999 Assembly elections.
