PANJIM: Excise Department will decide the fate of its inspector, Prashant Paiginkar, in view of allegations that he allowed an illegal liquor outlet at Sanguem.
Excise Commissioner Amit Satija said the department had asked for the officer’s “comments” based on which a report has been prepared.
“We had asked Paiginkar to give his comments on the allegations made against him. The report is ready.”
“We will examine the report before taking any decision,” the IAS officer told Herald.
Shiv Sena had complained about a fake inspection carried out by Paiginkar attached to Sanguem station and against Netravali Sarpanch Rajani Gaonkar for rigging the No Objection Certificate required to run the liquor business.
