Executive Magistrate, DySP confronted over non-implementation of HC order

QUEPEM, MAY 13 Quepem Taluka Mining Front (QTMF) members on Thursday confronted Quepem Executive Magistrate and Quepem DySP over non-implementation of High Court order with regard to overloading and non-regulation of mining trucks via Quepem town.

Quepem Taluka Mining Front (QTMF) members on Thursday confronted Quepem Executive Magistrate and Quepem DySP over non-implementation of High Court order with regard to overloading and non-regulation of mining trucks via Quepem town.
The Front members first visited the RTO office in Quepem. Since the assistant director of transport was not present, the members conveyed their grievances to Vehicle Inspector Sandeep Dessai to communicate to his higher up, Dessai assured to do the needful.
Later, the members confronted Quepem Executive Magistrate Sudin Nato and sought to know why high court order regarding overloading of mining trucks was not implemented despite of the instructions given by the Collector.
The members also brought to the notice of the magistrate that due to overloading of mining trucks, a lot of spillage take place in Quepem town, which results in dust pollution.
After giving a patient hearing to the members, Nato assured the members that he would look into the matter and communicate their grievances to his higher ups.
The members then visited Quepem Deputy Collector’s office, however they could not address their grievances, as the deputy collector and his subordinate were absent.
Later, the members confronted Quepem DySP Rohidas Patre in his office. The members had heated arguments with the DySP.
The members brought to the notice of the DySP about the violation of High Court order with regard to loading and regulation of flow of mining trucks. They also brought to his notice about constant traffic jam in Quepem town.
DySP Patre informed the agitators that it was the duty of the traffic police. Irked with DySP Patre’s reply, the members questioned the DySP if it was not the duty of his office, then why police from Quepem Police Station are deputed to monitor mining trucks at the check post at Tank and Sirvoi.
The DySP called Quepem PI Sudesh Narvekar to listen to the grievances of the agitators.
Later, the DySP Patre fixed a meeting of Traffic Cell and Enforcement Wing with the front members in his chamber on Friday morning.
