MARGAO: Margao MLA Digambar Kamat has called upon PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar to expedite the pending sewerage works in Margao so that hotmixing and repair of bad roads could begin.
At a meeting held in Panjim along with Dhavalikar and engineers, Digambar in his appeal to the minister, said the stretch from Davorlim to Rawanfond and Khareband junction be taken up on priority and called upon the Dhavalikar to take up repair and hotmixing of roads around the municipal garden and in Margao soon.
Kamat questioned the slow pace of work by the sewerage department, and informed that the deadline had lapsed.
He blamed the sewerage department for the bad road conditions and added that hot mixing and road repair cannot be completed until they finish the current work.
Margao locals are upset over the bad road conditions and that these works should have been completed much earlier to prevent locals from undergoing severe hardship, he said.
Kamat informed that Dhavalikar said that once they get the NOC from the sewerage department, they can carry out hotmixing of the roads in Margao.
