PANJIM: The Institute of Nursing Education has begun admissions for BSc in Nursing. The college has announced the availability of the prospectus for 2013-14 from May 20 at the office of the institute.
However, there is no indication of the increased number of seats. The BSc in Nursing at this government-run institute offers 25 seats for the four-year programme.
In the recently concluded budget session of the assembly, Health Minister Laxmikant Parsekar had announced that he would try to increase the seats from this academic year, and if not, increased number of seats would be made available in the next academic year.
Besides, the BSc in Nursing, the institute also offers a one-and-a-half-year course in auxiliary nursing and midwifery, which has 20 seats. Parsekar had said that he would try to increase the seats for this course too.
The course fees are Rs 12,150 per year for the BSc in Nursing course that will begin in June. Students have to secure minimum 50 per cent marks in Std XII (Science) and not less than 50 per cent in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
The last date for submission of complete application forms along with testimonials is June 3 by 4 pm. The course is open for both females and males.
The cost of the prospectus is Rs 150.
