PORVORIM: Health Minister Laxmikant Parsekar stated that private hospitals in the State have made significant contribution to the health sector.
Parsekar was speaking after inaugurating eye camp organized by Vision Care-Super Speciality Eye Hospital, Mapusa.
“Presently, the State government is facing a financial crunch due to closure of mining activities. Several lakhs of tourists visit Goa every year. If we improve medical facilities and infrastructure, then Goa can become a medical tourist destination, which can provide a lot of revenue to the State,” said Parsekar.
Adv Avdhut Salatry urged the youth to take care of their parents and not to send them to old age homes. Adv Salatry congratulated the Vision Care for organizing the eye camp for senior citizens.
Over 100 patients availed benefit of the eye camp, where Dr Shetye checked the eyes of the patients and was assisted by Orbit Occuplasty surgeon Dr Audre Quadros and Kuheli Bhattacharya.
Ravindra Fogueri welcomed the villagers, while cataract surgeon Dr Chandrakant Shetye proposed the vote of thanks.
