Fabindia CEO, MD give CB the slip

PANJIM: Fabindia CEO Subrata Datta and MD William Bissel, who failed to appear before the Crime Branch sleuths for the second time Tuesday, have been issued fresh summons to appear for questioning in the Candolim store voyeur camera case, on Thursday.

The store manager Chaitrali Sawant, who was granted anticipatory bail by the Mapusa court on Monday, was questioned for over four hours in the Crime Branch Ribandar office on Tuesday.
“They (CEO and MD) didn’t communicate to us about their absence today (Tuesday). We have issued them fresh summons to remain present for questioning at 10 am on Thursday,” Crime Branch SP Karthik Kashyap told Herald. The regional managers will also be called again as they too have failed to cooperate with the investigation, thus far.
Soon after the HRD Minister Smirti Irani’s expose on April 3, the company officials had sought time to appear for questioning citing travelling issues. Sources said this time they may not be given the liberty to choose a date for appearing before the CB sleuths.
