PANJIM: Amidst multiple ticket aspirants in each constituency, BJP Goa election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis held a one-to-one meeting with the ministers, legislators and other party leaders on day-one of his visit to Goa on Tuesday.

The party’s senior leader from Maharashtra has been frequenting to Goa since his appointment as election in-charge, but this is the first time that he met the BJP Goa leaders individually. While the details of the meeting have been kept under wraps, some of those who spoke to the media claimed there was no discussion on ticket allocation with emphasis on strategy for the upcoming polls.

“He (Fadnavis) had many things to discuss. It was about strategy for the upcoming polls. We are 60 days away from the code of conduct and it is bound that central leaders of various political parties will plan strategies…,” said Mnister Michael Lobo.

Asked about ticket allocation, Lobo gave a vague answer stating that in every constituency, there are many aspirants including the sitting MLAs. His wife and Sarpanch of Parra Village Panchayat Delilah Lobo is also aspiring to contest from Siolim constituency. Lobo said it is his wife’s decision to enter the main politics. It is however not know if she will contest from BJP ticket or as an Independent.

Minister Vishwajit Rane was among several others whose meeting with Fadnavis lasted for a long time.
