The case of counterfeit currency involving Bollywood actor Isaiah and local businessman Ismail Munshi, have been transferred to the Crime Branch from Porvorim police station.
Police spokesperson Superintendent of Police Atmaram Deshpande informed that the case has been handed over to the Crime Branch on Wednesday.
Following a complaint by Revenue Intelligence officials on Sunday, Porvorim police arrested the accused pair under sections 489 ,489, 419 and 420 of IPC.
Presently in seven-day police custody, the pair would pay for casino chips with fake currency notes, which were imported from England through Munchi’s agent. On winning, the actor would win Indian currency and continue playing on fake currency that looked almost original.
