VASCO: A two-wheeler rider was injured after a branch of a roadside tree fell on him at Chicalim on Thursday morning.
The rider was immediately rushed to the Sub-District Hospital, Chicalim, and later shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) in Bambolim, for further treatment.
Vasco fire personnel rushed to the spot and cut the tree and restored the movement of traffic which was piled up on either side of the road. Both the Vasco police and the Vasco Traffic Cell police were also at the site, manning traffic.
Following the mishap, the residents demanded that the Chicalim Village Panchayat immediately trim the hanging branches and prune the dangerous trees along the roadside in the larger interest of the people.
