False COVID report costs engineer his 4 days’ salary

MARGAO: Thanks to the failure of officials of Hospicio District Hospital and the COVID hospital at Margao, an engineer lost 4 day’s salary as he was falsely certified COVID positive when in reality he was negative.

The engineer went for the COVID test as his father had tested positive and was admitted to the COVID hospital. On April 1 he was said  he is tested positive and asked to go for self quarantine immediately without issueing him the certificate which he asked to furnish his claim in office. On April 4 he went for a second test.

On April 4 his Antigen test was negative following which he underwent the RTPCR test. Next day he receives a message on his mobile that he was negative for COVID.

However, as per the Arogya Setu app he is still showing COVID positive and hence his office is not willing to let him join service and he continues to be losing his payment for the days he is not working.

Various mistakes of the hospital authorities are exposed. They presumed that he was related to a well known patient from Betalbatim who had tested positive having the same surname.

Secondly his sister is a doctor at Goa Medical College who had tested positive and the hospital officials  registered them as Mr and Mrs implying that they were a married couple when in reality they are brother and sister.

Officials at Hospicio instead of admitting the goof up sought to put the blame on the data entry operator.
