MAPUSA: Social activists Roshan Mathias and Perpetuo Fernandes from Candolim have alleged that they are being harassed for raising their voices against illegalities happening in Candolim and Candolim panch has filed a false complaint against them, accusing them of molestation so that they can drown their voices.
Activists and political leaders from Calangute constituency held a protest march against the false case on Monday.
Mathias, along with former Calangute MLA Agnel Fernandes, ex-Sarpanch of Calangute Joseph Sequeira, activist S Dalvi among others, met Calangute PI Jivba Dalvi and asked him to investigate the case, since the complaint has been filed to tarnish the images of the two activists.
Sources informed that since the activists were raising their voices against ODP and PDA, the molestation case was filed against them.
Meanwhile, case of sexual harassment has been registered against Mathias and Fernandes under section 354 of IPC.
