Margao: The family of the former Congress Candidate of Navelim Zilla Panchayat (ZP) seat Santarita Babush Coelho has requested Congress to give the ticket of Congress to the son of Babush.
(Late) Babush Coelho who was the Congress candidate of Navelim ZP in the previous process of candidature died recently, which vacated the Congress candidature and also countermanded the election to next year.
His son, Edrich Coelho said the response they got was good at the door to door visits. According to Edrich, the villagers of Navelim have given an affirmative go ahead to Edrich to contest in place of his deceased father.
“We request Congress to consider me as the candidate in place of my father who was a leader rooted to the ground and a great help to the people of Navelim. I want to take his legacy of good work ahead” said Edrich.
