MOPA: The work of Mopa link road was going on in full swing on Monday even though the affected farmers from Tulaskarwadi, Nagzar continued with their battle against the road, for which thousands of fruit bearing trees including mango, cashew and medicinal plants and other trees were bulldozed.

“Heavy machinery undertaking digging of land along with installation of iron rods for the construction of poles for flyover was going on,” the farmers said.

With the State government failing to stop the work of link road, the farmers have now approached the National Green Tribunal seeking justice.

“We have approached the NGT wherein we have filed two petitions including one for immediate stoppage of link road work while other on the basis that the government has not obtained environmental clearance,” Sandip Kambli, an affected farmer, said.
