PANJIM: Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai along with Employees Forward Convenor John Nazareth and Vice President Durgadas Kamat participated in the dharna held at Azad Maidan, here, organised by All India Kisan Sabha, All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), and Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) in view of nationwide Bharat Bandh.
While addressing the gathering Sardesai said that the farmers have awakened the collective conscience of the nation. Like the railway strike of 1974 that dislodged a majority Central government like today, it was the farmers who sent a clear message to the Opposition in India that unites our common voice of democracy.
He further said that in Goa there is a special significance to the Bharat Bandh.
“This is a government that refuses to listen to the people and asserts its fake majority rulings on us. Let us take #inspiration from our youth and farmers and unite to raise our voice to #SaveGoaNow,” he said.
