Support price for 14 farmers from the North and 476 Coconut
farmers from the South which is pending with Finance dept should be cleared
immediately. CM Dr Pramod Sawant assured
to clear the pending amount by August 15.
It was Bicholim MLA Chandrakant Shetye who raised the issue of farmers’ compensation in House on
Monday, Presently 490 Farmers across Goa are yet to receive the benefit and
subsidies from the Government, meanwhile Fatorda MLA Vijay Sardesai said that
the Governments subsidy just 0,064% of
GDP, wherein CM assured that forms received this time were late and hence the
subsidy, compensation will be paid before Aug 15
It was Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas who demanded that the finance
department should clear the support price of 476 south Goa and 14 North and 85
farmers of last year.
However Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco demanded that the
support price for the farmers should be increased. He also demanded Agriculture
dept should look into the inundation of the paddy fields, and provide them the
subsidy again.
