Fast Food Owner Brutally Assaulted by Police Head Constable; Incident Captured on CCTV; Cop suspended

Viraj Mashelkar, the owner of a fast food stall in Marcel, was subjected to a merciless thrashing allegedly by a police head constable named Sameer Phadte over a trivial matter. The entire brutal assault was captured on the shop’s CCTV cameras.

The distressing footage reveals six individuals, including the accused police head constable, restraining Viraj Mashelkar and repeatedly punching him in the face and head. Sources indicate that this is not the first time Sameer Phadte has been involved in such a violent act, as he had previously faced trouble for assaulting an Assistant Sub Inspector from his own police station.

In response to the heinous act, five persons include 3 police personnel have been booked by Mardol police for allegedly assaulting a fast food stall owner at Marcel. Police head constable Samir Fadte attached to Ponda police station, ANC Constable Akash Narvekar, IRB Constable Mitesh Gaad, Mohit Gaad and Supresh have been booked for assaulting food stall owner Viraj Mashelkar. 

The video of the altercation and assault had gone viral on social media. The video shows a group confronting and assaulting Viraj inside the fast food stall. Incidentally, Fadte was suspended in connection with an assault case at Old Goa in 2022. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, scrutinizing the CCTV footage as crucial evidence.
