MARGAO: Additional Sessions Judge Kshama Joshi at the Fast Track Court in Margao dismissed the bail application of 28-year-old Akshaykumar Shetty. The accused was arrested by Vasco police for allegedly possessing 1.2 kg of Ganja, valued at Rs 1.2 lakh.
The arrest was made after Vasco police conducted a raid at Varunapuri, during which Shetty, a resident of Mundvel Mormugao, was found in possession of green-colored, dried, leafy substance suspected to be ganja.
Shetty had filed an application for conditional bail, but after considering the arguments from the public prosecutor and the defense advocate, the court dismissed his bail plea. In the order, the judge noted that the investigation is still ongoing, and the investigating police officer has asserted that the applicant was not cooperating with the investigation.
