PANJIM: The fate of around 200 fifth semester students of law is hanging in balance as the Goa University has failed to declare their re-evaluation results, even as it has announced the time-table for conducting the re-test from April 8 for those who could not clear their fifth semester examination including re-evaluation.
The fifth semester examination was conducted in the month of October, last year. Following results, several students had opted for re-evaluation of their answer sheets in January, this year. Three months have passed and the University has still not declared their re-evaluation results.
Speaking to HERALD, an affected student Prasenjeet Dhage said that around 200-300 students are in dilemma whether they passed after re- evaluation or have to answer the retest, which is starting from April 8.
“The students are completely blank. The exams are starting next week and we have no idea what to do. The University is not bothered at all. And if they declare the result now, it is not possible to study in just three-four days and appear for the paper,” he said.
The students had two weeks back gheraoed the examination controller Prof Anuradha Wagle, who assured to declare the result by March end. However, it has not yet been announced. Wagle was unavailable for comments.
The Congress and its student wing NSUI have decided to gherao Wagle seeking explanation for the delay in declaring the results and demanding postponement of the retests.
