PANJIM: The fate of BJP-backed Mandrem sarpanch Mahesh Konadkar will be decided during the special meeting of the panchayat convened on August 29 at 11 am.
A day after Konadkar was elected unopposed as the sarpanch on August 22, seven panchayat members namely Prashant Naik, Tara Hadfadkar, Mitchelle Sharon Fernandes, Robert Antanas Fernandes, Kiran Sawant, Minguel Fernandes and Amit Sawant tabled a no-confidence notice against him.
This will be the first no-trust notice against the sarpanch tabled within a week. All the signatories owe their allegiance to Mandrem MGP legislator Jit Arolkar.
