Fate of PMC candidates to be decided today

PONDA: The counting of votes for the 15-ward Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) elections will be held on Monday (May 7) in the Ponda Mamlatdar’s building from 8 am onwards.
The voting was held through ballot papers.  The fate of 74 candidates sealed in ballot boxes will be decided on Monday, as most of them, especially, the panels backed by the political parties are hoping to come to power by crossing the magical figure of 8 to rule the Council.
The 74 candidates, who contested the civic polls, include 42 males and 32 females.
The politicians claim of getting absolute majority to form the council, but in case they fail, then there is every possibility of them forging an alliance to form the Council.
