VASCO: Vasco police arrested a father for assaulting his 13-year-old minor daughter with knife on Friday.
Police investigation revealed that the couple residing in Vasco had strained relationship and had filed complaints against each other before the police. The wife has also filed a case under domestic violence Act against the husband in court.
On Thursday night the husband had an argument with his wife, after which he allegedly went to attack her with a knife. However, at the same time his minor daughter intervened and in a fit of rage the accused also assaulted the daughter, injuring her in the process.
The girl is said to be bleeding from injuries on her neck and was rushed to the hospital. An offence under Section 8 of Goa Children’s act and under section 324, 506 has been booked against the father.
The knife has been recovered and the JMFC Vasco has remanded the accused father to judicial custody.
