MARGAO: The farmers from Fatorda have issued a clarion call to save ancestral agricultural land and revive farming activity in the constituency.
This call was given at the blessing of the fields at Fatorda by the priests who also urged the public to preserve these fields and to continue to grow their crops in the way the generations before them had done so. The blessing of the fields was in line with the Konsanchem fest that is being celebrated across various parishes in the State.
The farmers recalled the days when there was extensive farming across Fatorda and they paid tributes to the pioneers from Fatorda for their contributions to agriculture.
They added that farming is not just a matter of earning an income but it is also a form of self-sustenance and that the future generation should continue this activity too.
