MARGAO: The Margao police have registered a case following a complaint lodged by Thelma Luiza Viegas, accusing Nobby M Viegas of Fatorda, of preparing a forged General Power of Attorney in his name by forging the signatures of Thelma Luiza Viegas and her husband Marcelino Jovino Viegas, residents of Manzilwaddo, Sirlim.
According to the complainant, Nobby Viegas used the forged PoA to execute two gift deeds on April 27 and October 11, 2018, in his favour, concerning properties under Survey No 88/15 (measuring 775 sq mts) and Survey No. 25/13 (measuring 7,500 sq mts). Additionally, the complaint alleged that he transferred the share certificates of the complainant and her daughter, amounting to Rs 50 lakh, from the State Bank of India. The police have registered an offence under Sections 465, 468, 471, and 420 of the IPC.
