Fatorda MLA inspects capping of Sonsodo site

Fatorda MLA Damu Naik along with Margao Municipal Chief Officer Y B Tawde inspected the work of capping the Sonsodo garbage dumping site.
The MLA told Civic officials that the capping work could be taken up after the first heavy showers since smoke is still billowing from the dumping site.
Naik said that the Sonsodo yard needs to be covered with tarpaulin, but hastened to add that it may not be advisable to cap the site when fire and smoke is raging underneath the site.
MMC Chief Officer Y B Tawde explained to the MLA that a fire tender has been stationed at the site to tackle any fire.
