PANJIM: One again the Goa Police turned Good Samaritan ahead of the International Women’s Day, the police with the help of Street Providence rescued a Goan woman, on Sunday midnight.
The woman was sleeping on the streets post midnight, near Holy Spirit Church, Margao. The Fatorda police team picked her up, got her medically examined at the District Hospital, Margao and admitted her in Street Providence Shelter home, at 2 am.
Street Providence founder Donald Fernandes after admitting the woman in his shelter home, said, “This homeless woman needed a place to stay and we have provided it to her.”
This is third incident wherein the police have rescued three homeless persons including two women across the State. Last week, the police had rescued a woman at Sao Tome area in Panjim and a man at Porvorim.
