Fatorpa Zatrotsav from January 5

MARGAO: The annual Zatrotsav of Shree Shantadurga Kunkallikarin will be celebrated at Fatorpa from January 5, 2014. The five day annual event will culminate with the Maharatha procession on January 9.
Briefing the media, President of Shree Shantadurga Kunkallikarin Saunsthan Dinkar Desai said the Zatrotsav will be celebrated with traditional pomp and gaiety at Fatorpa from January 5. He said the Elephant chariot process will be taken out at the Temple on January 6, followed by the Flower Chariot the following day. The Vijay Ratha (Victory chariot) will be taken out in January 8, while curtains will come down on the festivities on January, where the Deity will be taken out in a procession on the Maharath.
“We have made all arrangements for the smooth conduct of the festivities”, Dinkar said, even as Devasthan secretary Raju Desai outlined the various arrangements put in place by different government agencies for the grand Zatrotsav.
