With Brazilian footballer Zico as the head coach and France World Cup winner Robert Pires as captain and marquee player, the team drew a fan following like never before in Goan football.
Thousands of fans that cheered the team in its semi final at the Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, fell silent when in the tie-breaker Andre Santos taking the first kick, shot the ball out.
After that it was over in a matter of minutes.
The club is co-owned by Venugopal Dhoot, Virat Kohli, Dattaraj Salgaocar and Srinivas Dempo.
