Officials of the Food and Drugs Administration and the Mormugao Municipal Council conducted a raid on the stalls outside the Vasco Railway Station on Wednesday. While some stalls were operating without licences, others stalls were violating cleanliness and hygiene norms and food items were kept in the open. Over a week ago, the stall owners were asked to maintain hygiene and prioritize hygiene.
FDA authorities have suggested to the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) to have a designated food court in one place, to ensure proper cleaning and other facilities. The raids will also continue at other places in Mormugao.
