MARGAO: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted a surprise raid in Rawanfond, Margao, targeting a food preparation unit responsible for supplying food to the Railways
(Rajdhani) known as BrandavanFoods. During the inspection, FDA officials discovered that the unit was operating under unhygienic conditions and lacked registration with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
Previously, the same unit had received instructions from FDA during an inspection to adhere to hygiene standards.
However, during the re-inspection on Thursday, it was evident that the Food Business Operator (FBO) had continued to operate in unhygienic conditions.
As a result, the FBO has been ordered to cease its operations immediately, and legal action will be taken against the owners for disregarding hygiene regulations.
