Addressing the media a week ago, the Kerya locals feared the “unplanned” four lane widening work at Kerya Khandepar and that too without proper sign boards, would lead to accidents. Their fears came true with the accident late night on Thursday.
Kerya and Khandepar locals blame PWD and the contractor for undertaking four lane widening work without displaying proper sign boards.
There are several roads at Khandepar, but none of them has sign board, due to which motorists get confused as to which road they should take and in case of wrong choice, they meets with accidents.
According to reports, Ali took a wrong road due to which he met with an accident. Locals say that the contractor has not placed sign boards on roads. Further, the barrels placed on roads during the work were also not in place due to which, vehicles go in wrong directions and hit against each other.
