Feast of Saints Peter and Paul was celebrated at the Church of Nossa Senhor de Ajuda, Ribandar by taking out traditional Sanggod at Ribandar. St Peter is the patron saint of fishermen and the fishing community and his feast marks the blessing of the sea as well as the boats and canoes for the coming season by starting the celebrations from the bank to the river. It paves the way for preparations for the ‘rampon’ fishing activity.
