Mandrem taxi operators have slammed Goa’s Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho for planning to introduce app-based taxi services in Goa by stating that taxi operators do not use digital meters. They state that the government is yet to give the subsidy for the digital meters. Taxi owners claimed that it is the customers who do not want the digital meters due to their high price and requested the taxi operator to switch them off and paid a lesser fee. The Taxi owners have also strongly opposed the app-based taxi services.
