REIS MAGOS: The construction licence issue to a mega project which had no conversion sanad was the major topic that dominated the Reis Magos gram sabha on Sunday morning.
Other issues discussed at the meeting included irregular water supply and electricity. Locals also requested for a jogger’s park and ambulance facility for the village.
As soon as the meeting commenced, a villager questioned Sarpanch Virendra Shirodkar how construction licence was issued for a mega project in an eco-fragile area without a conversion sanad. The sarpanch replied saying that the matter would be examined as the same is sub-judiced.
To a question by Advino Fernandes, another local, whether there was a need for a 700 KVA power load to be supplied in the village, the Sarpanch replied that the panchayat had to verify the requirement of the extra load of electricity. At the same time, he said, the panchayat would also monitor whether the extra load was being tapped by commercial establishments in the village.
On water issue, Advino suggested that the panchayat provide the villagers with around 21,000 liters of water to meet their requirements.
The villagers asked the sarpanch to inquire as to how extra water was being supplied to commercial establishments, when the locals were not getting their daily share of water.
Villagers urged the panchayat to build a joggers park in the village and also provide ambulance facility.
