MAPUSA: The Anjuna Police on Wednesday arrested fifth accused involved in the attempt to murder of a tourist in Anjuna.
According to SDPO Mapusa, Jivba Dalvi, Salim Kasim Khan (41) resident of Khorlim in Mapusa was riding on a motor bike, travelling on Mapusa when DySp Dalvi saw him. SDPO Jivba Dalvi personally detained the accused and further handed over him to Anjuna Police Station.
Earlier Anjuna Police had arrested accused persons Royston Reginaldo Dias alias Rosha from Anjuna, Nyron Reginaldo Dias both residents of Demello waddo Anjuna, Kashinath Vishvor Agarqadekae and Joseph Alex Lobo both residents of Sovranto wado, Anjuna. All these accused persons are presently in police custody.
SDPO Mapusa further informed that since the involvement of fifth accused has come to light, sections 143, 147, 148 r/w 149 IPC have been added. Already the accused have been charged under Section 307 IPC.
