MARGAO: While the TCP has acted in favour of the people of Carmona and have issued stop work and showcause notices to the Rahejas, many feel that the fight has just begun.
Though the TCP may have this time relied upon the Writ petition filed by the Carmona Villagers Social Welfare Forum in the High Court against the Raheja project, the decision of the High Court is awaited.
“In view of the above and as decided by the Government, you are hereby directed to stop the construction activity, started by you in the aforesaid property, until the matter before the Hon’ble High Court is decided,” said the TCP order.
The Village Panchayat Carmona through a letter to the Minister for Town planning had raised certain allegations while approving the plans of the Raheja project, in their letter addressed to the Minister for Town and Country Planning.
In the past the villages of Benaulim Colva and several other villages have faced the problem of Mega Projects and the step of Carmona?kaars is to avoid a situation similar to these villages.
