Film finance scheme in next 15 days: CM

Chief Minister Digambar Kamat has said the government’s film finance scheme will be finally notified within the next 15 days and has asked the film producers to come out with good quality films.
He was speaking after inaugurating the 10th Kalarang Festival of Dance, Music and Theatre at the Ravindra Bhavan here on Thursday evening.
Referring to the comment made by Fatorda MLA Damu Naik that he is yet to receive government’s assistance for his film till date, the Chief Minister said the Film Finance Scheme has been finally cleared by the government and the same has gone for vetting by the Law Department. “The scheme will be notified in the next 15 days after clearance from the Law Department”, the Chief Minister, but appealed to the film producers to produce really good and quality films.
“There will be no dearth of money under the scheme. We have made a provision of Rs two crore, but there should be qualify films. Those who produce quality pictures, government would finance the films”, he said, adding that the notification of the scheme was delayed on account of the bitter controversies over who should receive the government assistance for the films.
The Chief Minister also announced that the Kosambe festival of ideas will now be held in Margao followed by other towns and villages of the state. “The festival has been appreciated and taken note of even in Delhi. It will be held all over Goa in the years to come”, he added.
Referring to the Kalarang Festival of Dance, Music and Theatre, Kamat said the foundation for the festival was laid 10 years ago with the assistance of the West Zone Cultural Centre (Udaipur) and Kalangan. “The time has now come to look back and review the progress of the festival and take it to greater heights in the years to come”, the Chief Minister said, adding that the KalaRang festival has now become a permanent festival in the city of Margao.
