PONDA: As per the directive of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) Sanjeev Gadkar, Goa Dairy Board of Directors (BoD) on Monday finally convened a meeting and decided to place the CA’s inquiry report at its annual general body meeting scheduled on September 2.
It may be recalled that a few months ago, Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) Sanjeev Gadkar had appointed CA Yatish Vernekar following complaint by former chairman of Goa Dairy Madhav Sahakari and Farmers’ Inquiry Committee chairman Dattaprasad Savordekar alleging mismanagement in purchases of raw material, machinery and cattle feed plant losses.
CA Yatish Vernekar conducted an inquiry into affairs of Goa Dairy and submitted a report to RCS regarding losses caused to dairy on account of mismanagement with regards to purchasing raw material, machinery and cattle feed plant losses.
Following this, the farmers agitated by holding hunger strike and demanded action against those responsible for the losses.
Even after month, as the BoDs failed to comply with the RCS order, around 60 member societies sent letter to RCS and Goa Dairy chairman calling to convene the annual general body meeting to discuss CA’s report.
The RCS directed the Goa Dairy BoDs and MD to place the report before special general body.
As the BoD failed to comply with its order, RCS sent two reminder letters to BoD warning action for failing to convene the meet.
