MAPUSA: Finally 20 days after inauguration of the new Mapusa bus stand, it was made operational on Wednesday.
The interim bus stand was inaugurated on January 6 by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant in presence of Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza.
However, soon after, the gates of the bus stand were locked and with 48 hours of inauguration, some labourers were also seen removing pavers installed on the bus stand. On Wednesday, the intra-State buses were seen plying on the new bus stand.
The Opposition MMC councillors had criticised local MLA for carrying sub standard work and wasting more than Rs 3 crore of the tax payers’ money.
