SATTARI: It was moment of joy for the locals of Vantem as their long pending demand for an approach road at Pilyekar Wada was fulfilled finally.
It is pertinent to note that the locals have been demanding an approach road for the past two decades. However, PWD, Valpoi finally constructed the road at Pilyekar Wada, Vantem.
The villagers said, “Finally, the PWD has constructed the 160-mtr approach road at Pilyekar Wada, Vantem at an estimated cost of Rs 4 lakh.
“All internal roads in Vantem are in a very bad shape and need to be repaired on priority. However, there are few locals, who are creating problems. They are objecting to development works in Vantem,” the villagers complained.
“I thank the Valpoi BDO staff, PWD Junior Engineer, Bhirondem panchas, Tribal Department and Vantem villagers for their support,” said panch Nitin Shivdekar.
