MARGAO: Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco on Tuesday urged the government to find out a permanent solution for preventing the re-occurrence of fire at Sonsoddo.
In a letter to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, Minister for Waste Management Michael Lobo and Minister for Urban Development Milind Naik, Aleixo Reginaldo said “In the year 2019 from May 28, the Sonsoddo garbage dump had constantly witnessed fires. Even at the beginning of summer of the year 2020, there was a fire at Sonsoddo. The populaces in and around Sonsoddo garbage dump is dejected and frustrated lot as their health is severely affected by the poisonous smoke billowing from now and then fires at the aforesaid site.”
